Our Heritage
From the legendary Phu Vinh craft village to global B2B partnership — a journey rooted in heritage and innovation.

King Thanh Thai Era

Phu Vinh Craft Village
About 400 years ago, in Phu Vinh craft village, artisans began collecting egret feathers and combining them with indigenous handicraft techniques to create unique products. As egret feathers became scarce, craftsmen adapted by turning to rattan, bamboo, and natural materials from local forests.
By the reign of King Thanh Thai, the craft had reached such refinement that 9 master artisans were granted royal recognition — testament to centuries of cultural identity and technical mastery.
Today, Tam Van Nhan carries this heritage into the modern global supply chain, delivering over 20,000 containers of Made-in-Vietnam products to Asia, Europe, Americas, and Australia.
About 400 years ago, in Phu Hoa Trang — now known as Phu Vinh rattan and bamboo craft village, Phu Nghia commune, Chuong My district, Hanoi — there was a famous piece of land called Bai Co Dau (Egret Landing Field), today known as Go Dau. During egret season, white feathers blanketed the entire area. From these natural materials, local artisans began collecting egret feathers and combining them with indigenous handicraft techniques to create unique hats and headwear. Initially crafted for daily use and kept as mementos, these items grew in popularity and gradually became tradeable goods, laying the first foundation for a craft with commercial value.
As egret feathers became scarce, the adaptability and ingenuity of the village craftsmen drove a pivotal transformation. Drawing on existing weaving techniques, artisans turned to reeds, bamboo, rattan, and other natural materials from the fields and forests to develop products for everyday life. The craft not only survived but expanded, gradually forming an ecosystem of highly functional handmade products with lasting commercial value.
By the reign of King Thanh Thai, the traditional craft of Phu Vinh had reached such a level of refinement and renown that 9 master artisans were granted royal recognition. This acknowledgment was not merely a source of village pride — it was testament to the depth of craftsmanship, cultural identity, and technical mastery cultivated across generations.
From this tradition-rich homeland, Mrs. Pham Thi That and her husband Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan carried the spirit of traditional rattan and bamboo weaving into their entrepreneurial journey in Bien Hoa, Dong Nai, beginning with the Hoang Duong rattan workshop in 1997 — the predecessor of Tam Van Nhan Co., Ltd., officially established in 2005. Inheriting centuries of craft heritage and combining it with modern manufacturing thinking, Tam Van Nhan has grown into a large-scale export enterprise, delivering over 20,000 containers of Made-in-Vietnam rattan and bamboo products to markets across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Australia.
Today, Tam Van Nhan represents not just a handicraft manufacturer, but a trusted B2B partner in the global supply chain. With the capacity to fulfill large orders, extensive international export experience, and deep expertise in natural materials, the company has built lasting partnerships with strategic clients including TJX, Ross, JYSK, AE-Trade, Burning, and Baâuhus. Each product is not merely a decorative or household item — it is the convergence of Vietnamese craft heritage, product development capability, and a long-term commitment to global partners.
